Filling out a job application

The Student Employment Program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale was designed to provide you with part-time employment experience, supplemental income, and educational benefits outside the classroom. Student employment also offers opportunities for you to make contacts with role models in your respective field and to secure employment references.

At SIU Carbondale, students must seek and secure the job that best fits their schedule and needs. Students are encouraged to maximize all student employment options by following these suggestions:

  • Visit the Jobs Search page to see available positions posted by campus departments. Search and view all the jobs on the list, or define your search by selecting the “Job Type” that interests you.
  • Visit individual department pages on the siu.edu website by clicking the “Index A-Z” link on any SIU main page. Use the alphabetic keypad to locate the department by name.
  • Visit campus departments, see Campus Map, to inquire about student job availability. While many campus departments employ students, the following are a few of the larger hiring departments:
    • University Housing
    • Recreational Sports and Services
    • Student Center
    • Curriculum and Instruction
    • Library Affairs
    • Information Technology
    • Travel Service
    • Intercollegiate Athletics
    • Physical Plant Services
    • Clinical Center Achieve

SalukiNet

Provides All Students access to the Student Employment Work Referral, Statement of Earnings and more.

  1. Log into SalukiNet using your SIUC Dawg Tag
  2. Search "Student Employment"
  3. Click "Student Employment Referral"
  4. Select the semester employment will begin
  5. Click "Submit"
  6. Print Student Employment Work Referral.
